The 9th CIIE Opens November 5: Visitor Registration Guide and Exhibition Zones at a Glance

The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5 to 10, 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Registration for public visitors closes at 24:00 on October 20 — companies and individuals planning to attend should complete online registration as soon as possible.

As the world's first national-level expo dedicated to imports, the China International Import Expo (CIIE) has been successfully held for eight consecutive editions. The 9th CIIE will take place from November 5 to 10, 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

Public Visitor Registration: Deadline October 20

According to official CIIE announcements, since September 9, domestic and overseas public visitors have been able to register online through the CIIE official website (www.ciie.org), the app or the mini program. The registration deadline is 24:00 Beijing time on October 20, 2026, and the payment deadline is 24:00 on October 23. All visitors must complete online registration in advance.

Visiting dates are November 8, 9 or 10 (only one day may be selected; daily badge quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis). The visitor badge service fee is RMB 50 per person per day. Companies and individuals planning to attend should complete registration before the deadline.

Exhibition Zones

Upholding the concept of a "comprehensive expo, professionally organized," the 9th CIIE will feature six themed exhibition areas plus an Innovation Incubation Zone:

  • Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products
  • Automobiles and Smart Mobility
  • Technical Equipment
  • Consumer Goods
  • Food and Agricultural Products
  • Trade in Services
  • Innovation Incubation Zone

The Hongqiao International Economic Forum will be held alongside the expo, together with supporting activities such as policy briefings, matchmaking and signing ceremonies, product showcases, investment promotion and cultural exchanges.

Review of the Previous Edition

The results of the previous edition (the 8th CIIE) demonstrate the value of this platform: 67 countries, regions and international organizations participated in the Country Exhibition; the Business Exhibition attracted 4,108 companies from 138 countries and regions, showcasing 461 new products, technologies and services making their debut; and intended deals reached USD 83.49 billion on an annual basis, up 4.4 percent from the previous edition.

Preparations for this edition have been in full swing: the first batch of overseas exhibits set sail from the Port of Hamburg, Germany in late August, including precision machining equipment from a European "hidden champion" that will make its Asian debut at the CIIE. Since September, booth plans for the medical and consumer goods areas have also been released.

Tips for Exhibiting Companies

The CIIE gathers global professional buyers and media resources and has long been a high ground for brand launches and business matchmaking. For companies planning to exhibit or visit, we recommend:

  1. Complete registration early — professional visitor and public visitor channels have different timelines; do not wait until the deadline;
  1. Plan your visiting route in advance — the NECC is enormous, and scheduling meetings by target zone in advance is far more efficient;
  1. Emphasize the link between booth and communications — "debut" and "first launch" are keywords of the CIIE, and coordination between booth design and media communications directly affects brand visibility.
