This article summarizes the three phases, key product categories and critical construction timelines.
Known as "China's No. 1 Fair," the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is about to hold its 140th edition. According to official information, this edition will run in three phases at the Canton Fair Complex (No. 382 Yuejiang Middle Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou), with negotiation hours from 9:30 to 18:00 daily.
Three Phases and Key Categories
Phase 1: Advanced Manufacturing (October 15–19) Covering home appliances, industrial manufacturing, vehicles and two-wheelers, lighting and electrical products, hardware and tools, and more. Specific zones include household appliances, consumer electronics, industrial automation and smart manufacturing, new energy vehicles and smart mobility, construction machinery, and new materials and chemical products. The "advanced manufacturing" theme echoes the strong momentum of exports in smart manufacturing and the new energy industry.
Phase 2: Quality Home Life (October 23–27) Focusing on daily ceramics, kitchenware, household goods, glass crafts, home decorations, garden products, holiday items, gifts and premiums, building and decorative materials, sanitary ware and furniture. An International Pavilion is also included.
Phase 3: Healthy Living (October 31 – November 4) Covering toys, mother-and-baby products, apparel, footwear and bags, home textiles, medicines, health products and medical devices, food, sports and leisure products, and pet supplies. It is worth noting that emerging consumer categories such as pet supplies and toys continue to expand.
Scale and Buyer Resources
This edition has a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with 13 sections and 54 exhibition zones, and an estimated 32,000 exhibiting companies. Referring to the previous edition (the 139th), about 314,000 overseas buyers from 220 countries and regions attended, and global buyer resources remain the core value that Chinese exporters value most about the Canton Fair.
Phase-Change Periods and Construction Tips
The phase-change periods between phases are October 20–22 and October 28–30. For companies exhibiting with custom booths, the window for move-in, construction and move-out during these periods is extremely tight. We recommend:
- Confirm move-in approval, power applications and fire safety procedures with your construction service provider in advance;
- Prioritize modular, prefabricated booth structures to compress on-site construction hours;
- For companies exhibiting in multiple phases or consecutive editions, consider recyclable profile solutions for cross-edition reuse to reduce costs.
The Canton Fair has long been regarded as a barometer and bellwether of China's foreign trade, and the 140th edition comes at a pivotal moment. We will continue to follow this edition on site and provide exhibiting companies with booth design, construction and on-site service support.
